What is a closed session?

Closed sessions are meeting where the public may not attend.  The Brown Act limits closed sessions ti the following categories:

 

LICENSE/PERMIT DETERMINATION

 

CONFERENCE WITH REAL PROPERTY NEGOTIATORS

 

CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL--EXISTING LITIGATION

 

CONFERENCE WITH LEGAL COUNSEL--ANTICIPATED LITIGATION

 

LIABILITY CLAIMS

 

THREAT TO PUBLIC SERVICES OR FACILITIES

 

PUBLIC EMPLOYEE APPOINTMENT

 

PUBLIC EMPLOYMENT

 

PUBLIC EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE EVALUATION

  

PUBLIC EMPLOYEE DISCIPLINE/DISMISSAL/RELEASE

  

CONFERENCE WITH LABOR NEGOTIATORS
